On the 12-13 October 2019, CNRS opened its doors to welcome the public to discover a wide range of science exhibits. BRGM, the French Geological Survey and initiator and leader of CO2-DISSOLVED, manned a stand presenting the CO2 utilisation and storage parts of the CCS chain. The CO2-DISSOLVED technique was presented, focusing on the GEOCO2 project financed by the Region Centre - Val de Loire.

A GEOCO2 poster (in French) was presented, which attracted wide interest, and the new 3D model was on display much to the delight of the visitors, especially the younger generation who were able to follow the process easier.

About the Science festival

The science festival is organised annually by a variety of scientific bodies (academia, research institutions, actors in the French scientific landscape, libraries, etc.) and federated by regional coordinations. Weekdays are mostly school-based, while on weekends, the general public is in a hurry to visit the various science sites or villages set up accross the country. On show are presentations, demonstrations, visits, discussions, conferences, etc. It is an opportunity for schoolchildren and the public to chat with scientists and enthusiasts directly.
